Gaborone [Botswana]June 11 (ANI/Xinhua): Botswana President Mokgoetsi Masisi on Friday received the first injection of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine in the country’s capital, Gaborone.
“I am here to receive the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine that is currently underway, and I am receiving the vaccine today, as I said before, those running the vaccine campaign have made arrangements for who will receive the vaccine and when, so it is time,” Masisi said.
Masisi encouraged everyone to take a jab when it was their time to save lives.
The South African country is currently offering the second dose to people who received the first dose of Sinovac. Botswana has provided at least 150,019 doses of COVID-19 vaccines so far with a total of 59,480 cases and 896 deaths. (Ani / Xinhua)
