Father and son dead after morning fire in west end of Gatineau | CBC News

A father and son died in a burning house in Aylmer on Wednesday morning.

According to police, neighbors called 911 for the first time on Wednesday at around 4:45 a.m. from the southern end of Rue Parker. The emergency services then noticed a large fire on arrival.

Neighbors were evicted from their homes and offered shelter on a bus as firefighters battled the smoke and flames.

Raymond Perst, 85, and Jean-Marc Perst, 67, were rushed to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.

According to the Gatineau fire department, the police are leading the investigation.
