Halifax Regional Police charged three men and one woman Friday morning following a drug raid in Bedford, NS.
Investigators from the weapons and gang unit of the integrated special enforcement department became involved after police seized a loaded pistol and cocaine valued at $ 22,000, police said Monday.
Two policemen in tactical gear and armed with assault rifles stood on the front steps of two townhouses a short distance away on Larry Uteck Boulevard, one of the most populated streets in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
People who run and walk their dogs early in the morning told CBC they had no idea what was going on.
There were no tagged police vehicles on site when officers searched the indoor and outdoor areas of the two properties. Some of the officers on the spot wore shirts that had “Drug Unit” written on the back.
An 18-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman will appear in court at a later date on multiple drug-related charges.
Raheem Munro, 28, is confronted with possession of weapons and ammunition contrary to a court order in two cases and another court order in three cases.
He had previously been arrested at two cocaine busts in Halifax in 2017 and 2018.
