Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has donated GHS300,000 to the Kokrokoo Charities Foundation, YEN.com.gh has gathered.
The gesture is to help the foundation to buy five incubators for selected hospitals across Ghana.
Dr. Gideon Boako, the vice president’s spokesperson made the donation on behalf of his boss which was received by the respected broadcaster, Kwame Sefa Kayi.
In a short address, Dr. Boako acknowledged that the inadequacy of incubators hinders the survival of pre-term babies across hospitals in the country and that the vice president wants to personally assist the foundation in getting incubators out there.

The Foundation has been calling for help from the public to support its “Project 100” initiative which aims at supplying incubators to hospitals across the country to save the lives of the infant.
It thanked Dr. Bawumia for his gesture, eulogising him for his philanthropic heart and character.
Meanwhile, armed police officers stormed a press conference by a pro-NPP group calling itself—’Movement for Bawumia’.
According to a report sighted on Starrfm.com.gh, the presser was scheduled for noon, today, Wednesday, May 26, 2021.
It was meant to address issues surrounding the Akufo-Addo administration’s latest “no-nonsense” stance against illegal mining vis-à-vis the burning of excavators and other equipment seized at galamsey sites.
Starr News’ Ashanti Regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako, who was at the presser reported that the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator stormed the event with six armed police officers.
The organisers of the presser were whisked to the regional police command after close to an hour meeting with the armed officers.

“I don’t really know why the police and the national security will come in to stop us. I have been told to report to the regional deputy commander which I will do after speaking to you,” he said.
