Senate President Ahmed Lawan has broken his silence on the Federal Government’s suspension of the micro-blogging and Twitter social networking platforms.
Nigeria and Twitter said they need each other.
He called for a peaceful settlement of the dispute with Twitter.
Lawan came to his senses at a briefing in Abuja on the second anniversary of the 9th Senate.
He said: “We believe that just as Twitter needs Nigeria, so does Nigeria need Twitter.
“Our hope is that we can resolve this issue.
“Apart from that, I am optimistic and believe that we will all learn. ”
He assured that the nation will cope with security problems.
He added: “I believe this is the worst level we can achieve. We can not go beyond this level, it could be better.
“I believe we will restore this situation soon. We must not despair, we must not despair. There must be hope and optimism that our situation will improve. ”
