The Nigerian Air Force has announced that the first batch of A-29 Super Tucano has arrived in Kano.
The plane was received by Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Bashir Magashi (Rtd), Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya and Air Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Olao, according to Nigerian Air Force Commander Edward Gabkvet’s Public Relations and Information Director.
Six Super Tucano jets are part of the 12 aircraft to be supplied by the United States.
The statement said: “The first batch of A-29 Super Tucano aircraft arrived in Kano today, July 22, 2021, at 12.34pm. Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, Chief of General Staff, and Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, Chief of Air Staff, were present to receive the aircraft. ”
