Azad government Jammu Kashmir (AJK), on Wednesday, failed to present a budget for fiscal year (FY) 2021-22 as the minister disagreed on some issues.
Finance Minister Dr Najeeb Naqi is due to present the FY 2021-22 budget with Rs 141.4 billion today.
According to the estimates, approximately Rs28 billion has been generated for the development package annually, 15% higher compared to FY-2020-21, while Rs113.4 has been set up due to unspent funds. Rs 10 billion has been given to the transport and communications sector.
In addition, once the 5 years of PML-N-led state law in AJK expire, this budget is expected to be the final one in the process.
It is important to note here that the 53rd parliamentary election of the Azad Jammu Kashmir Assembly is due to take place on July 25.
In the past, the federal government, as well as the provinces including Punjab, and Sindh have openly expressed their budget ideas.
