ISLAMABAD – The state council on Friday approved a 2021-22 budget.
Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over the meeting. The council managed a budget of Rs8 trillion 2021-22.
The government led by Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf is set to present the federal budget to parliament today at 4pm.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan convened a special meeting of the prime minister to approve the 2021-22 operating budget.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin briefed the ministers on budget expenditure, budget expenditures, budget cuts and other key issues related to the FY 2021-22 budget.
The federal court also granted a 10% increase in the salaries and pensions of government employees.
The government has said R1,330 billion for defense while 3,105 billion is due to be used as interest.
Growth in household goods is set at 4.8% in the 2021-22 budget.
