At least 14 people have been killed and 26 others injured in a series of torrential rains in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region in the past 24 hours, officials said on Thursday.
The Provincial Disasters Management Authority (PDMA) said heavy rains had hit various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and flooded the lowlands of Ismail Khan, Hazara and Malakand districts and damaged four houses and slightly damaged 21 others.
“Houses were damaged by the cyclone that hit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which left 14 people dead and 26 others injured in one last day,” said an official in the PDMA.
District officials in the area have organized relief efforts to rescue the affected area and provide appropriate assistance to visitors, the official said.
